Is she for real?

I could be creating all kinds of chatter around the neighborhood. “Did you see Katie today?!” “Oh my goodness, she was totally outside mowing her lawn! Isn’t she like 9 months pregnant!?” Yup…. it’s all true. I am certain our neighbors think one of two things, either that I am insane or my husband is a total “JA”. Poor Jason, he was even all “How bout I cut the front and you cut the back so people don’t think I’m a real jerk of a husband.” My response… “I don’t really care what people think, if mowing the lawn is gonna get this baby to descend lower in my pelvic area I’ll cut our lawn and their lawn too!” I mean essentially if I were to go for a walk and push Ryann in the stroller it would be the same thing. Except cutting the lawn might even be a little easier because the mower propels itself! It’s really no big deal….. but I know how people are. 😉 To be quite honest I think it’s pretty awesome that I feel good enough TO mow the lawn at almost 39 weeks. I wish I would have taken a picture!!!

This weekend I attempted another “labor inducing” method. It’s an old wives tale that eating egg plant parmigiana can cause women to go into labor. We went to this restaurant Scalini’s that serves it and if you go into labor within 48 hours you get a 25 dollar gift card and a onesie that says “Scalini’s baby”. It’s a VERY popular tradition. They have pictures and articles hung all over the place of ladies it’s worked for. Well we ate there Saturday night….. still no baby. I have till like 7:37pm tonight….. I mean I have them quick but I need to go into labor like now! haha. Nicole said we can try another restaurant Ippolitos this weekend if Caleb hasn’t come. Really it’s just our way of getting a girls night out!

This was the first time I had ever even had eggplant and it was very good!

I’ve been reading up on other methods that say can help start your labor. From acupressure to herbal teas to…… well let’s just say Jason is one happy man and I’m not referring to my help in the yard. 😉 The fact of the matter is it doesn’t matter WHAT I try the baby just isn’t coming out until he is ready. Mine seem to like waiting for the doctors coaxing and that’s after a FULL 40 weeks gestation. I can do all the labor inducing I want but ultimately that’s not what is getting baby out. It’s mostly just fun trying all the different “methods” and seeing if coincidentally Caleb arrived after experimenting with one. I mean it would be pretty sweet to say “Yeah I totally cut our lawn the day I gave birth to you.” 🙂

Oh! Did my water just break……?? 😉

19 days to go

Most pregnant women can relate to this…… I’m tired of being pregnant! Mostly I just want to hold my baby, see him, count his fingers and toes, watch him breath…… but I’m trying not to get sucked into the anxiety of wishing he was here and once again enjoy each day God gives me for what it is. So here are a few things I’m learning about how to enjoy the moments and not dwell on “when is he going to come?!”

Main thing……. get out of the house! And better yet, get dressed, do your hair and make-up. It really makes a girl feel better when she feels good about herself. I even went as far as going and getting a hair cut. It was time for all of us Graham girls to get a trim so I called my new hair gal up and she could see us that day. Perfect!Ryann was really enjoying this part. I thought she might fall asleep!

Love this…..

I wish I had some pictures of the finished product. I mean it was just a trim but I certainly can’t blow dry like Alisan can! I did go out and by a round brush though so I’m gonna try.

I was bored with my own hair but I’m trying to stay away from coloring it for awhile. Especially considering how healthy and nice it is now! So I went for the bangs. Jason wasn’t really excited about them. Or maybe he isn’t thrilled about being married to a 15 year old I don’t know 😉 Either way, it’s done and all my girlfriends seem to love them!

So our salon adventure took up one day!

I admit, in your 3rd trimester you have days where you have burst of energy and can accomplish things like….

Organizing your closets.

so wish I had taken a before, during AND after of this entire office. Just imagine your typical stuff falling out of the closet and covering every inch of the floor while you sort through whats junk and whats junk you want to keep!
Not junk, but I had to document all the yarn my sweet mother-in-law has stocked me up with. There is more to. I really need to get back on the crocheting wagon.

Nothing about this was organized before. There was stuff ALL OVER the desk and floor. It was your basic junk room.

All my yarn was “hiding” (in plain site) back here. Along with some blankets and other random items.

And the best part of it all was being able to put something on this wall. It was previously blank but because I cleaned out the closet I found ALL of these pictures in frames and said “Oh what the heck, let’s hang some stuff!”

However, when you don’t have those surges of energy you can feel PRETTY lethargic. And that is when it’s really tough to get up and out. Today was one of those days, but with a little encouraging from my hubby to come visit him at work, we made it out of the house and I’m sure glad we did. He has started a residential cleaning business so his work is at peoples homes and this particular customer is a sweet older couple that live about 45 minutes away in the country. They were having a basement sale and invited us to come and browse their treasures. They ended up giving us a really nice castle play set for the girls and we got to meet some horses along the way.

I just love horses. One day we are gonna live out in the country and have some!

Can’t forget about the “treasures” the girls found. Why do kids always go for the stuffed animals…. and Ryann happened to pick a dog that rolls on the floor and laughs hysterically. It’s actually pretty funny.

The castle…. really sweet of them to just give it to us. It’s like 400 dollars new and this one is basically in new condition.

So with 19 days to go me and the girls are trying to stay busy, enjoy the pool, get our naps in, and basically not think about “When am I going to go into labor?”

Counting down the days

27 days to go till July 4th. Pretty crazy that he will be here by then or at the latest the 5th because this girl will be getting induced if he doesn’t come on his own. I was induced with both my girls and had such a pleasant experience with their deliveries, so I am absolutely not opposed to going that route again. I really would love for him to come on his own (maybe even a little early 🙂 ) BUT there is a lot to be said about planned deliveries. The pictures taken at both Micaila and Ryann’s birth speak for them self, lol. For one, my hair was done and my make-up freshly applied. I mean how important is that! 😉 All the right people were there which wasn’t really an issue when we lived in Florida since everyone was in the area but this time it’s gonna be different. I’m still wondering who’s going to be able to take pictures while Jason and I are busy bringing Caleb into the world. I always had a mommy there. But I’m not worried, and like I said, I certainly don’t want him to wait on the pitocin to come out! Next week I will be considered full term and Caleb has my permission to make his entrance any time after that. 🙂 I think it would be pretty cool if once again my sister-in-law and I had babies 9 days apart like Damien and Ryann. She just had her sweet Joshua on the 4th, what a blessing! He is healthy and beautiful and BIG! 8 pounds 6 oz. I mean that’s big to me, I have little peanut babies. Micaila only weighed 7.7 because she was 2 weeks late! Anyway, we are so ecstatic to add to the White Clan. Thankful to our Savior for these wonderful gifts of life.

I’ve been finishing up all the last preparations for Caleb. Hospital bag is packed with his sweet little outfit to come home in. And I’ve made him a few hats.

I really want to get a little Alabama A patch to put on the football beanie. I can’t wait to see him in them!

I also have been meaning to share one of my totally awesome shower gifts with you. My sweet friend Jenda made me a diaper bag. I was totally shocked when I received this gift. First of all, it was just extremely thoughtful of her to make me something that is so nice and I know took a lot of time to do. And the real icing on the cake is she personalized it not only by embroidery but also with the stunning fabric she used. 🙂 Check it out!

Roll Tide Roll! Isn’t it gorgeous!!!! I love it! And as you can see she made a matching diaper pad and sling. So excited to use it all. Thank you so much Jenda! I know she is starting up a business making things like this and more, so if anyone has interest in her products let me know I can get you some contact info.

That’s all for now. 🙂 🙂
